EINWE
EU-India Network of Women Entrepreneurs
Sustainable development and women’s empowerment are globally important
issues today. Entrepreneurship is a major factor in empowering women.
Sustainable and environmentally sound business practices are being
widely adopted in the developed world today. Non-tariff barriers for
products from other countries that do not adopt environmentally
sound practices are a major factor limiting their access to
global markets. For Indian women entrepreneurs to develop a competitive
edge and to access global markets, there is a need for knowledge
dissemination acquisition on sustainable business practices.
The EINWE initiative - a strategic alliance of ALEAP and InWEnt -
provides training for women entrepreneurs in Andhra Pradesh. Focusing
on the Food-Processing and Garments sectors the the project will
answer the question on how to produce globally competitive products in
an environmentally and socially sustainable manner and will facilitate
the networking with European organisations.
